The leggings for a Saturday of errands and nowhere to be

Some days the plan is a grocery run, a walk to the post office and a long sit with a laptop. These ankle leggings are made of a double knit fabric with four way stretch, a wide flat waistband and a drop in pocket at the side, which suits a day like that.

The fabric is a double knit, and the listing calls it ultra soft, breathable and comfortable. Soft is a matter of touch, so read that as the maker’s description rather than a measurement. The content is 82% polyester and 18% elastane. Polyester makes up most of the cloth, and the elastane is what gives it stretch. The listing also describes four way stretch construction that moves better in every direction, which is worth knowing if your day includes stairs, bus steps and bending to reach a low shelf.

At the waist there is a wide, flat band with a drop in pocket at the side. The listing does not say how deep the pocket is, so whether a phone fits is left open. The title says pockets in the plural, while the feature list names only one side pocket, so check the photos before you count on two. The title also says ankle, so the legs end at the ankle, but no inseam, rise or size chart is given.

Care is straightforward: machine wash. The listing gives no water temperature or drying advice, so the label is the place to look. It says imported and names no country. It also does not mention opacity, so how the fabric behaves in bright light is unknown. How the fit feels on you is a matter of body and taste.
