The wide leg pants for slow Sunday mornings at home

Some days the plan is a couch, a laptop and a quick walk to the corner shop for milk. These wide leg pants suit that kind of day, in a rayon rich fabric with stretch, an elastic waist with a drawstring, and three pockets. They come in taupe, black and navy blue.

The fabric is what the listing leads with. It is called Air Layer, a blend of 48% rayon, 42% polyester and 10% elastane. Rayon is the largest share, which fits the listing’s description of a smooth feel and a fluid drape, and the elastane accounts for the stretch. How soft that feels is a matter of taste. The listing gives no weight or thickness, so it does not say how warm or opaque the fabric is.

The cut is a classic wide leg that the listing says drapes from hip to hem with a relaxed fit. The waist is elastic with an adjustable drawstring, so the fit is yours to set. No inseam, rise or size chart is given in the material, so check those on the page before ordering. Length and how high the waist sits are therefore unknown here.

There are three pockets: two roomy side pockets for a phone, wallet or keys, and a hidden inner pocket for earbuds and small essentials. The listing suggests pairing them with blouses, sweaters, tees or sneakers, for travel, work from home, errands or weekends. Care is machine wash, and the listing gives no temperature or drying advice. Imported, in taupe, black and navy blue.
