The big green bowls for a table that fills up fast

The number that decides this one is 75 ounces, which is about 9.4 cups to the brim. The listing gives a diameter of 10.3 inches and a depth of 3.2 inches, so this is a serving bowl for salad, pasta or soup for a crowd, in green porcelain.

The 75 ounce figure is most likely a brim capacity, and the listing does not say otherwise, so the working volume will be lower. At 10.3 inches across and 3.2 inches deep, the shape is wide and fairly shallow, which suits salad, pasta and fruit. The listing says the bowls stack, which helps with cupboard space, but it gives no weight.

The material is porcelain, fired at a high temperature. The listing calls it lead and cadmium free and says it is safe in the dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer. It gives no maximum oven temperature and says nothing about sudden temperature changes. The glaze is said to resist knife and fork scratches at 1000 grams of pressure, about 2.2 pounds, which is one test condition and not a promise about years of use.

The Bohemian description, with its romanticism and mysterious atmosphere, is marketing language and measures nothing. The listing shows a green colorway with stripe patterns. The same bowl is also sold in red, blue, and a green floral version in a set of 2. The listing does not say how many bowls come in the green version shown here.
