The flowy midi dress for the walk to Saturday dinner

A tiered midi dress in 100% polyester with a square neck that can sit off the shoulder, a smocked bodice, an elastic empire waist and side pockets. The listing names several colors and suggests a wide range of occasions.

The fabric is 100% polyester, and the listing describes it as ultra soft with a silky touch and good drape. Polyester is a synthetic fiber, so how it feels against the skin is a matter of personal preference, and the listing gives no weight or lining details. It also notes that light colors call for nude or beige underwear to keep things discreet, which is worth knowing before you pick white or a pale shade.

The shape comes from a few details. The square neckline is convertible, so it can be worn off the shoulder. The bodice is smocked, the empire waist is elastic, and the skirt is a tiered, flowy A line that ends at the midi length. The sleeves are layered ruffles, and there are side pockets. The listing does not give a skirt length in inches or a size chart, so check the size information on the product page before ordering.

On styling, the listing suggests sandals, flats, wedges, heels, ankle boots, knee high boots or loafers, with a denim jacket, cardigan, scarf or hat on top. It lists beach trips, work, parties, weddings and fall festivals as occasions. Colors named include white, black, burgundy, light blue, brown, light pink, yellow and sage green, plus pale yellow and black floral. Care is machine wash, and it is imported.
