The black oxfords for a Monday that needs a little structure

A black leather oxford with a round toe, a lace up front and a platform sole. It is made for long days that run from desk to dinner to a late bus ride home, and the laces let you decide how snug or loose the fit feels.

The listing describes a round toe oxford in black leather with a brogue style finish and a platform sole. The outer material is listed as leather plus rubber, and the sole is rubber. Lace up closure means the fit can be adjusted, snug or loose, depending on the sock you wear and how your feet feel by evening. The listing also uses the word slip on in places, but the shoe is laced, so treat the laces as the real way in.

Comfort claims come from the listing: a soft platform insole in a fabric meant not to rub, and an arch lug sole for support and cushioning. The rubber outsole is described as non slip, with traction on a range of surfaces. Those are the maker’s descriptions, and the listing gives no measurements for sole height, weight or width, so how the shoe feels is something the specification cannot settle. Sizing details are not given in the material either.

The shoe is pitched for both formal and casual days, from office to dates to a night out, and the listing suggests it as a gift. Black leather is an easy match for trousers, skirts and jeans, though that is a matter of taste. It also comes in Brown and a version listed as 9082 Black. The listing says the shoe is imported. It does not state the leather type, the heel height or any care instructions.
