The ankle boots for a day that runs from desk to dinner

Some days start at a desk and end across a dinner table, and one pair of shoes has to cover both. These ankle boots have a round toe, a 3 inch stacked heel, and a side zipper set beside elastic V cut panels. The outer is polyurethane.

The outer material is polyurethane, a synthetic coating, so these are not leather boots. The listing says nothing about water resistance, so treat the finish as something to wipe clean rather than something to soak. The shaft stops at the ankle, which makes the boot easy to sit under jeans or below a skirt hem.

Inside there is a soft textile lining and a cushioned latex insole. Textile against the foot is what the listing names for the lining. The side panels are elastic and sit next to the zipper, which the listing describes as giving a snug, contoured fit and an easy way to get the boots on and off. How snug they feel is a matter of your own foot and calf, and the listing gives no size chart, width, or weight, so check the retailer sizing details before you order.

The heel is 3 inches, and the listing title calls it a stacked chunky heel, with the description calling it stable. The sole is rubber, described as wear resistant and slip resistant. No friction rating is given, so grip on wet tile is not something the specification can promise. The round toe and plain shape pair with jeans, skirts, or dresses, though whether that suits your wardrobe is a matter of taste.
