The hand blender for soup on a slow Sunday afternoon

This corded hand blender has an 8 inch removable blending arm, a variable speed trigger, a pan guard and a 3 cup jar with a lid. The listing does not state motor wattage, which is the figure that would say most about power, so the description rests on the parts and their dimensions.

The two measurements the listing gives are the length of the blending arm, 8 inches, and the capacity of the jar, 3 cups. The arm length sets how deep the blender can go into a pot or container, and a 3 cup jar suits a single serving of a smoothie, a milk shake or a small batch of hummus. The blade is stainless steel with four points. The listing says it blends quickly, but gives no speed, wattage or time, so quickly is a description and not a measurement.

Control comes from a variable speed trigger switch. The listing does not say how many speeds there are or whether the range is continuous, so variable speed is all that can be reported. The removable pan guard is described as US patented and as helping protect cookware while blending, which matters for soups made directly in a pot. The listing does not name which cookware surfaces it covers.

The jar is BPA free, comes with a lid, and can be used to serve from or to store food for later. The blender arm is listed as dishwasher safe; the listing does not say the same for the jar, lid or pan guard. The set includes one hand blender, one arm, one jar with lid and one pan guard. Cord length and weight are not stated. The blender is also sold in Charcoal Grey, Ink Blue and Blue Velvet.
