The glass dome over a cake before the guests arrive

The number that decides this one is 10.9 inches, the width of the glass dome, which sits on a 13.03 inch square wooden board. The dome stands 6.49 inches high, so the real question is whether your cake fits under it.

The listing gives outer measurements for both pieces. The wooden board is 13.03 inches long and wide and 0.5 inch thick. The domed glass cover is 10.9 inches long and wide and 6.49 inches high. These are exterior figures, and the listing does not state the interior clearance. A cake close to 10 inches across, or one taller than about 6 inches, should be measured against the dome before you count on it fitting.

The materials are simple. The base is wood and the lid is glass. The listing title says porcelain, but the materials line names only wood and glass, so the title word is not supported by the specification. The listing also does not give the type of wood, the finish, or whether the board is sealed. Care follows from the two materials: the glass cloche is listed as dishwasher safe, while the wooden tray is washed by hand and dried promptly.

The listing calls it suited to every season and nearly every occasion. That is marketing language, not a measurement. No weight is stated. The same design is also sold as Nesting Bowls, a Platter & Bowl Set, and a Cake Stand, and the listing gives no further detail on those versions.
