The bath mat for stepping out of a warm December shower

This chenille bath mat carries a layered Christmas tree pattern with scalloped edges. The listing describes a dense, fluffy pile, a hot melt adhesive backing for grip on dry, smooth floors, and machine washing. A Snowflake version is also sold.

The first thing to check on any bath mat is size, and here the listing is slightly unclear. It gives the dimensions as 3220 inches, which most likely means 32 by 20 inches, about 81 by 51 centimeters, but the listing does not spell that out. Measure the floor beside your tub or vanity before ordering, and leave room for the door to swing clear.

The surface is chenille, described as dense and fluffy, with a 3D layered tree pattern and scalloped edges. The listing says the upright fibers hold moisture and that the structure is breathable, so the mat should dry out between uses. It does not state the pile height, the fiber content, or the weight, so those are worth looking for if they matter to you.

Underneath is an odor free hot melt adhesive base. The listing says it grips dry, smooth surfaces, which is a narrower claim than gripping everything, and it does not mention wet floors or textured tile. The listing also says the backing survives repeated machine washing without cracking or fading, though it gives no wash temperature or care instructions. It is described as suitable for bathrooms, entryways and party areas, and a Snowflake version is sold as well.
