The long plaid skirt for the first cold morning out the door

A long pleated plaid A line skirt with a high waist, side pockets and an ankle length hem. The fabric is 80% polyester and 20% wool, and the listing says machine wash, which suits a flat where the washing routine has to stay simple.

The shape is an A line with a high waist, cut as a pleated maxi that ends at the ankle. The back of the waist is elastic, so the fit is not entirely fixed by the zipper. The front closes with an invisible zipper fly, which means no buttons or visible hardware on the front. Side pockets are listed, which is a practical detail for a phone, keys or a card.

The fabric is 80% polyester and 20% wool. That means polyester is the larger share and wool the smaller, so this is a blend rather than a pure wool skirt. The listing describes the pattern as a classic plaid and says it suits spring, fall and winter. It does not state the weight of the cloth, whether there is a lining, or how much the elastic stretches, so those are worth checking in the product images and questions before you order. Whether plaid reads as schoolgirl, heritage or just cozy is a matter of taste, not measurement.

Sizing is given in standard American sizes, and the listing asks you to choose your usual daily size. The listing text gives no measurements, so any size chart on the page is the place to confirm length and waist. Care is machine wash, and the skirt is imported. The listing gives no water temperature or drying method, so the care label on arrival is the safer guide.
