The tall boots for a cold walk to the evening bus

These are slouchy knee high boots with a 3 inch layered heel, a pointed toe and a suede like upper. An inside zipper and an elastic panel handle the fitting, and the lining is described as soft and warm. Here is what the listing says, and what it leaves out.

The shaft is knee high with a circumference of 15.4 inches. The listing adds that the elastic panel stretches to suit different calf shapes, and that the stretch panels allow a wider opening at the top. An inside zipper handles getting them on and off. The listing does not give a shaft height in inches or a size by size measurement, so check the sizing information before ordering if your calf is at either end of the range.

The heel is 3 inches and layered, and the outsole is TPR rubber, listed as a thermoplastic elastomer. The listing says this adds height and gives stability and support through the day. It does not state a weight or any waterproofing, so wet pavement and long walks are your own judgment call. The upper is a suede like material that is slightly stretchy, with a soft and warm lining. The lining fibre is not named, so the warmth is a description rather than a measurement.

The pointed toe, the retro look and the slouchy shape are a matter of taste, not measurement. The listing suggests skinny jeans, shorts, skirts, a utility jacket or a wool coat. With one rail in the wardrobe, a pair that the listing pairs with all of those is worth knowing about.
