That slow Sunday stretch on the living room floor in a soft tank

A slim, waist length tank with a Y shaped back, thin straps and a built in shelf bra. The listing describes it as made for yoga or lounging, with light support and a fabric that is soft and very stretchy. Here is what those details mean on paper.

The fabric is called Butterluxe, and the listing gives its makeup as 81% polyamide and 19% Lycra. Polyamide is the nylon family, and Lycra is a brand name for elastane, the fibre that lets a fabric stretch and return to shape. With 19% elastane, stretch is a real part of this fabric. The listing calls it extremely soft and ultra stretchy, which is the maker’s description rather than a measurement, so how soft it feels is a matter of taste.

The cut is slim and waist length, meant to sit between the waist and the high hip. That is worth knowing if you like a longer line, since this one is cut to end around the waist. The support is light, with a built in shelf bra and removable pads for a little extra coverage and hold. The straps are thin and the back is a Y shape, which is a style choice as much as a fit detail.

The listing says machine wash, but it does not give a water temperature or say whether it can go in the dryer, so the care label is the place to look. It also does not include a size chart, a length in inches or a bust measurement, and the item is imported. Those are the gaps worth filling first. Check the retailer’s size guide before choosing a size.
