The ankle boots for the first properly cold morning

Black faux suede ankle boots with a square toe and a chunky block heel, made to slip on and off without fuss. They are for the mornings when the cold has properly arrived and you want one pair that goes with a skirt, jeans or a dress.

The upper is faux suede, which the listing describes as soft and cozy for cold weather. The inner material is listed as soft fabric, and the sole is manmade. The listing does not state any insulation, lining thickness or waterproofing, so read these as a fall and winter look rather than a rain boot. Faux suede is a matter of surface and feel, and how it copes with damp is not covered.

The shape is a high top ankle boot with a square toe and a chunky stacked block heel. The listing calls the heel height comfortable and the sole non slip, but it gives no heel measurement in inches, so check the exact height before deciding if it suits a long day on your feet. A block heel has a wide base, which is simply how the shape works. The closure is slip on, and no zipper or laces are mentioned.

Styling is a matter of taste. The listing suggests dresses, skirts, jeans and pants, and names work, school, shopping, travel and parties as occasions. Slip on boots are easy to get on and off, which the listing names as a selling point. Sizing, shaft height and weight are not given in the material, so those are the details to confirm before ordering. The seller says questions on the listing page get a reply within 24 hours.
