The handheld vacuum sealer for putting leftovers away at dusk

A handheld vacuum sealer the size of a pepper grinder, sold with 30 reusable bags. The listing says it seals a bag in 5 seconds and shuts off by itself. Those are the numbers that matter, and a few other claims in the listing are worth reading with some care before you buy.

The figure that decides most questions here is time. The listing states that the device seals a bag in 5 seconds, starts with one press of a button, and switches itself off when the bag is done. It also says one battery charge is enough for 1000 bags. That is a stated claim, not a measurement, and the listing gives no battery capacity, charge time or suction rating to check it against. The same goes for the line that it pays for itself after a few uses, which depends on what you buy and how much you throw away.

The kit has 30 reusable bags: 15 small and 15 medium, packed as three sets of 10, each with 5 small and 5 medium. The listing describes them as safe for the dishwasher, freezer, refrigerator and microwave, BPA free, odor free and leak proof. It does not give bag dimensions, thickness or material, so the words small and medium cannot be turned into a fit for a particular cut of meat or a loaf. The device is described as the size of a pepper grinder, and it is rechargeable and wireless, which suits a drawer or a camper.

Food types named are meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, dry goods, pizza and leftovers. Cover is a 60 day money back guarantee and a 2 year warranty. It is also sold with 20 bags or with 10 bags.
