Thick socks for the cold floor on a dark winter morning

A pack of three pairs of thick socks in various colors, sized for women 5 to 11, with a cuff that sits above the ankle. The listing describes them as warm for cold winter days, with an elastic band at the ankle meant not to squeeze, and suited to indoors and outdoors.

The fabric is listed as 70% polyester, 15% acrylic fiber and 2.5% wool. That adds up to 87.5%, and the listing does not say what makes up the remaining 12.5%. Polyester and acrylic carry most of the sock, with wool as a small share, so it is fair to read this as a synthetic sock with a touch of wool rather than a wool sock. The listing calls them thick and warm, but gives no weight or thickness measurement.

Sizing is stated as women’s 5 to 11. The cuff sits above the ankle, which the listing ties to wearing them with low cut boots. The elastic band at the ankle is described as not compressing the legs, and the listing says that makes them comfortable for everyday activities and for sleep. How snug a cuff feels is personal, and the listing gives no measurements for the band.

The pack holds three pairs in various colors, though the listing does not name the colors. It suggests wearing them indoors on a home floor, or outdoors with snow boots, slides or slippers. Care is machine wash, and the listing also says hand wash is fine. It is imported, with no country named. Choosing among the colors is a matter of taste, so check the listing images for what is in the pack.
