The tall boots for the walk from the bus stop to Friday night

A tall boot with a 2 inch block heel, a gathered shaft and a faux kidsuede upper. It has an inside half zipper, a memory foam insole and a textile lining, and it comes in tan, taupe and black, in regular and wide calf sizes.

The shaft is the part to read closely. The listing gives its height as 15 inches, measured from where your heel sits to the top, so it is a true tall boot and the number is worth holding against your own leg before you decide. The shaft is gathered, which gives it a slouched, folded look rather than a smooth column. Calf sizes come in regular and wide, which is useful information if tall boots have been hard to zip in the past.

The upper is faux kidsuede, an alternative leather, and the lining is textile. The heel is stacked faux leather, 2 inches high, in a block shape. The sole is described as flexible and non slip. Inside there is a padded insole with memory foam, and an inside half zipper handles getting them on. The listing says they are imported.

What the listing does not state: whether the boots are water resistant, how they are cared for, what the sole is made of, or how the width of the wide calf compares in inches. Whether the gathered shaft or the faux suede look suits your wardrobe is a matter of taste, not measurement. The colors are tan, taupe and black, and the listing calls the design versatile, which is its own word and not a test result.
